Kate was faced with a difficult decision in middle school – accept being pre-diabetic and steamroll ahead towards diabetes, or fight it. Kate, through her own struggle, decided that she was too young to have such a serious disease. This talk will inspire you to see how simple changes can make a big difference in your life.

Kate is an ordinary eighth grader. She enjoys drawing, reading books, and playing softball. In addition, she plays piano and trombone. When Kate grows up, although it’s unlikely that she ever will (humor intended), she wants to be a graphic designer.
