It takes a team to provide a safe and healthy school environment for students with Type 1 diabetes. We all need to help. Parents, school personnel, doctors and nurses need to work together. This video is an orientation tool for 504 plan administrators and other non-medical personnel in schools. The video is not intended to replace hands-on medical training in the care for children with Type 1 diabetes. It includes considerations for children with hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia, blood glucose checks, insulin dosing and other information.

This video is proudly presented by the pediatric endocrinology team at Beaumont Children’s. The video is made possible with support the Phillip and Elizabeth Filmer Memorial Charitable Trust, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund.
