In type 1 diabetes, the immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys the insulin-producing cells in your pancreas. But what if we could stop the immune system attack? 

Our researchers are testing new treatments, called immunotherapies, which are designed to do just that. In the future, they could give us a way to slow type 1 diabetes, prevent the condition entirely, or form part of a cure.
